Charlie is a 9yr old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. His vet from Bond Street veterinary clinic referred him for hydrotherapy a year ago, as he was lame on his front left leg. He couldn't walk far as he would start limping quite badly. After a few weeks of hydrotherapy his leg become stronger and he also lost some extra weight he was carrying. All in all hydrotherapy has helped Charlie a great deal, I'm so grateful to his vet for referring him, and of course to Sam who does his hydrotherapy.

Lottie

Lottie

Lottie is a 1yr old Chocolate Labrador who came to us with hind limb lameness. She was unable to enjoy the usual things that young Labradors enjoy doing such as running and playing for long periods of time without being stiff and lame afterwards. After 6 weeks of hydrotherapy and controlled exercise, Lottie was no longer lame and her confidence has grown tremendously, so much that her owner struggles to keep her out of the near by stream. Lottie especially enjoys her spa sessions where she relaxes in the warm bubbles and watches the other dogs playing in the runs outside.

Lucy is a 10yr old Bassett Hound who underwent spinal surgery to correct a slipped disc. Although the surgery went well she was not recovering the use of her hind limbs and had lost all strength and muscle tone. It was a slow process with intensive hydrotherapy and physiotherapy sessions 3 to 4 times a week. After 12 weeks Lucy took her first steps, wobbled and flopped down. This soon turned into a walk and then a run. She now enjoys a normal life at home and swims occasionally to maintain her strength and stability.

Dolly

Dolly is a 1yr old Dogue De Bordoux who came to us with a sciatic problem in her left hind. She was scraping her foot quite badly and noticeably weaker on that side. With lots of Hydrotherapy and physiotherapy the problem although not completely righted was much better and far less pronounced. Dolly thoroughly enjoys her swimming and especially loves the orange Frisbee being thrown for her to fetch.

Tilly

Tilly is a 13yr old Lab cross Collie who was generally feeling her years a bit and was slowing down and becoming stiff. She was a little nervous to start but after lots of encouragement and the help of a Christmas pudding squeaky toy Tilly now really loves her hydrotherapy sessions. She also loves her spa sessions to ease achy joints and give her an all round boost.

Toby

Toby is a 2yr old Golden retriever. He has been swimming with us for over a year now as he has hip dysplasia and must keep the muscles strong around the hip area to prevent soreness and consequent lameness. Toby is one of our strongest swimmers and no longer needs a float and quite often has the resistance jets on full power.

Jim

Jim is a 14yr old Border Collie. He is a veteran at hydrotherapy and has swum for most of his life at various centres. He has severe hip and spinal osteoarthritis which is helped hugely by the warm water exercise and especially the spa sessions help ease any aches and pains he has.

Harry

Harry is a 12yr old Labrador who has chronic osteoarthritis mainly in his hips and elbows. He thoroughly enjoys his hydrotherapy sessions and loves to give us the run around with his favourite black and purple Frisbee. He again likes to relax in the warm bubbles after a hard swim.

Misty

Misty is a 14yr old Golden Retriever who came to us recently with severe arthritis pain and inflammation. She unfortunately had a flare up which was so bad that she was unable to weight bear at all on her front leg. With the help of the electronic hoist to get her in and out of the pool where once in the warm water she was able to freely move all of her legs. We did this 3 times a week for three weeks and she is now able to slowly amble around her favourite field at home and is once again enjoying life. She swims twice a week to keep her joints mobile and she enjoys the freeness she has in the water.
